PAY RATES & ROSTERS

Potential Pay rates based on current industry standards**

Entry level
Nipper, Service Crew, Diamond Drill Offsider and Truck Operator
Most people with in the industry talk about wages as a day rate
As a new starter you will start on a day rate of $350 to $450 a day
Most companies have an experienced tuck drier day rate around the $500 a day mark
Depending on roster, those rates work out to $75,000 to $110,000 a year

2nd tier
Service Crew Leader, Bogger Operator, Diamond Driller, Long hole Operator and Charge Up
The day rate for these job is $600 to $1000 a day or more depending on the company
Those rates work out to $120,000 to $180,000

3rd tier
Jumbo Operator, Shift Supervisor and Foreman
The day rates for these jobs have a a wide range from $850 to $2000 plus a day
Those rates work out to $150,000 to $300,000 plus

Lower amounts are usually owner operator pay rates and it should be noted that they often come with other benefits such as health insurance, salary sacrifice and life insurance. This would be on an 8 days on and 6 days off, 7 days on and 7 days off roster.

Conversly, the higher amounts are usually with contractors and would require a 2 weeks on and 1 week off roster.

Hours worked

As a mine worker you will be required to work 12 hour shifts.

The mine generally works these 12 hour shifts between 6am and 6pm or 7am and 7pm

 

Fly in Fly out

8 days on 6 days off; 7 nights on 7 days off

2 weeks on 2 weeks off

2 weeks on 1 week off

4 weeks on 1 week off; 5 weeks on 1 week off and 6 weeks on 1 week off

Live in work

4 days on 4 days off

8 days on 6 days off; 7 nights on 7 days off

4 days on/24hours off/ 3 nights on/ 3 days off/ 3days on/ 24 hours off/ 4 nights on/ 4 days off
