It is a little published fact that only Australian’s (permanent residents or Australian citizens) can fill the jobs that are required to operate a mine. It is a strange but true fact (even though these jobs pay double the Australian average) that the Australian government classes all the real mining jobs that are performed as unskilled labor. That’s right unskilled labor and these jobs have to be filled by Australians. This is one good loop hole that many large companies have found it impossible to get around.
