EMPLOYMENT & INDUSTRY EXPECTATIONS
Do you guarantee employment?
No. Employment guarantees are not possible due to mandatory onboarding requirements set by mining company employers such as police clearances, medical assessments, and drug & alcohol testing. These factors are outside our control.
We also caution the public on being wary of those organisations who claim they can guarantee employment. Control of employment falls entirely at the feet of those companies hiring as well as the caveats they place on those roles.

ABOUT UNDERGROUND TRAINING
Who created the training programs and why?
The courses written by the team of WA Underground Shift Supervisors at Underground Training were originally created as a 3-day sit down style course. In 2018 it was revamped and moved to an online format. After years of managing crews, they identified a major issue: high turnover among new starters.
New entrants often arrived with unrealistic expectations and struggled to learn both the practical and ancillary aspects of the job simultaneously in a hazardous environment. This led to burnout, dismissal, or resignation.
The training was created to give new starters a realistic, warts‑and‑all understanding of underground mining, helping them make informed decisions and succeed in the industry.
