Get some dirt that is between fist and forearm size and drop it into the hole. The dirt should be raised above the road height as it will pack down when run in. Back blade the area to knock down sharp rocks.
Over the next 5 – 10 buckets use the weight of the bucket to roll the road in. Then once packed, cover with road base and roll in. If done correctly then this will set like concrete after a few days of the road base being rolled in.
